At KatKin, we’re committed to providing high-quality, fresh meals and litter for your cats at the best possible value. This article explains why a delivery fee has been introduced, how it works, and how you can save on your deliveries.
Why we charge a delivery fee
Until August 2024, we absorbed weekday delivery costs to keep pricing as low as possible. However, delivery costs have increased significantly in recent years - it now costs more than £5.00 to send every box.
To continue providing reliable, chilled deliveries without compromising quality, we now applies a small delivery fee.
Delivery fee amount
Each delivery plan includes a £2.99 delivery fee on your first plan only.
This helps us cover a portion of rising courier costs while keeping our prices transparent and fair.
Multiple subscriptions
If you have multiple KatKin subscriptions, such as food and Scoop litter, you’ll only pay the delivery fee once every 28 days - on your first delivery plan.
That means, if you have Fresh food delivered on the 1st, and litter delivered on the 10th, you'll only pay £2.99 on the first fresh order. After the 29th, the delivery fee will apply again.
All additional plans receive free delivery, so you don’t pay more for ordering across multiple subscriptions.
Delivery fees for scoop litter subscribers
You’ll only pay the £2.99 delivery fee for your Scoop litter if it’s your only KatKin delivery.
If you also receive any fresh food deliveries, your Scoop litter is delivered for free.
You can also reduce your delivery cost over time by ordering more bags less often. For example: you can also adjust your delivery frequency anywhere between 1 and 16 weeks, depending on how much litter your cats need and how much room you have to store your litter. Scoop Planet should be kept in a cool, dry place.
1 bag = £18 per bag (plus £2.99 delivery)
2 bags = £16 per bag
4 bags = £14 per bag
Example savings
1 bag every month: £18 + £2.99 delivery = £20.99 per month (~£83.96 every 4 months)
4 bags every 4 months: £56 + £2.99 delivery = £58.99 every 4 months (~£14.75 per month)
Essentially, ordering larger quantities less often is the best and most cost-effective option if you have the storage space.
Multi-Cat Discount
From 2024, we introduced a multi-cat discount.
If you have more than one cat, you’ll receive 5% off all fresh food, Sprinkles, and Nibbles for all cats on your account.
For example:
If you have two cats, you’ll save a total of £5.95 per month.
This discount helps make feeding your feline family more affordable.
Tips to save on delivery fees
There's no need to combine your Scoop litter and food deliveries to pay the delivery fee only once, as long as they're delivered within 28 days of each other.
Order multiple bags of litter less frequently to lower the cost per bag and reduce total delivery charges.
Add more cats to your account to benefit from the multi-cat discount.
