I've ran out of food, what do I feed my cat!

What to do if you ran out of KatKin

Updated over 3 weeks ago

We always recommend keeping a few trays in your freezer spare as safety stock, in case of a delivery emergency. We don’t deliver on Sundays or Mondays, so unfortunately if there’s a delay with your delivery on a Friday or Saturday, we won’t be able to get a replacement box out to you until Tuesday at the earliest.

The trays keep for up to 9 months in the freezer (just check their best before date at the bottom), so keeping a few trays as back up can be helpful.

If you’re completely out of KatKin in between deliveries, we have a few options to help:

  1. Cook plain boiled chicken at home for your cat. Here’s how:

    • Boil or bake plain chicken breast without any seasoning, oils, or spices to prevent digestive upset.

    • Allow the chicken to cool to a safe temperature before serving.

    • Chop the chicken into small, manageable pieces for easier consumption and minimal waste.

  2. If chicken isn’t available, consider alternative cooked meats such as turkey or fish. Just ensure they are:

    • Free from added seasonings, sauces, or additives.

    • Freshly cooked and served plain.

  3. Check out our retail locations to grab some individual KatKin trays from Pets at Home or Jollyes.
