When you introduce a friend to KatKin food, they'll get an introductory discount that's at least 50% off their trial box, and there’s usually a discount on your next box once they've signed up.* This 50% discount will replace our standard 20% trial discount code.
How to refer a friend
Sending a link:
Head to ‘my plans’ in your account and click on ‘Refer a Friend’
You’ll need to register with our referral scheme, Mention Me. Use the same email address you use for your KatKin account.
Share your unique link with your friend
❗ If you can't see the referral page in your account, you might have an ad-blocker extension installed that are blocking Mention Me's page from showing up correctly. We recommend disabling your ad-block extension temporarily and refreshing the page.
Can my friend sign up multiple cats with my referral discount?
Yes! If your friend has more than one cat, they can sign up up to 4 cats for trial boxes on our website. The discount code will apply to all cats who are signed up, so if they have 4 cats, all 4 trial boxes will have a 50% discount.
Sharing a referral leaflet.
In each delivery, you’ll receive a referral leaflet, to help you share KatKin via QR code or special referral sign up link.
Sending your unique code:
In your refer-a-friend dashboard in your KatKin account, you'll have unique code to share.
Send this to a friend and they can apply it to the website when signing up for their first trial box.

During sign up:
Once you’ve registered with our referral scheme, your friend can enter your full name and email address when they sign up for their own trial box. They should receive a referral discount code from you automatically.
If they've received an error and couldn't complete the sign up using your referral code, it might be because they didn't meet our refer-a-friend terms and conditions.
If you think they should be awarded the referral discount, please reach out to our Cat Experts and include your name, your friends name and your friend's email address so we can check the referral for you. Once our Cat Experts approve the referral, a discount code will be sent to your friend so they can continue signing up to KatKin!
💡 Referral discounts can't be applied to accounts retrospectively, so please reach out to our Cat Expert team to look into the referral first before continuing with a sign up. We want to make sure everyone is rewarded for spreading the KatKin love. 🐈⬛
How to add your 50% discount code
If you've recently referred a friend to KatKin and they've successfully received their delivery of their trial box, you'll be emailed a 50% discount code from our referral partner Mention Me. All you need to do is add this to your account for it to be applied to your next order of fresh cat food.
Timing and Eligibility Rules
A referral discount must be applied before an order is billed. If the order has already been charged or is about to ship, the discount will apply to the next eligible box.
Referral discounts can still be allocated to a future subscription box if not used during a current order cycle.
Referral discounts don't expire, so you have plenty of time to use them.
To add your 50% referral discount code:
Copy the code from your Mention Me email.
Head to your KatKin account and once you're logged in, click 'manage plans'
Scroll down past your fresh or litter plans to 'Discounts'
Paste your 50% referral code and click 'add code'
To check if the code has been successfully applied, scroll up to your active subscription for your cat's fresh order and click 'price' to see a breakdown + your discount.
If you've referred multiple friends and you'd like to add multiple discount codes, repeat the process! Any further discounts will be stored in your 'queued discounts' section at the bottom of your account.
One by one, these discount codes will be automatically applied to each order of KatKin fresh food.
Tip! From time-to-time we may test out different offers so make sure you're getting the most-recent offer by logging-in and sharing your Refer A Friend link regularly.
Why is my referral discount not applying to my account?
If you've referred a friend and you've been sent an email with a 50% discount code, you'll need to add this to your account for it to be applied to your next order.
If you've tried to apply the code and you're getting an error, there could be a few reasons:
You've already applied the code. To check if the code has successfully applied, scroll up to your cat's plan at the top of your account and click 'price'. You should see the price breakdown, including any discount codes that are going to be used on their next order
You've already used the code on a previous order. Head to 'past orders' and click on your receipts to check if it was discounted. The 'total discounts' section will let you know how much was saved. Remember the 50% referral discounts only apply to fresh food: not our treats, litter or delivery fee.

Why is my referral not going through?
There's a number of reasons why the referral might not have been successful. See if any of these issues sound like something you've experienced.
Your friend signed up to KatKin, but cancelled their trial box order and didn't receive a delivery. This means the discount won't be rewarded unfortunately.
Your referral didn't meet our refer-a-friend terms and conditions. This could be because
You used the same device to sign up to KatKin
You referred a friend too quickly after signing up to KatKin yourself
Mention Me has flagged the referral as suspicious
Your friend didn't use your referral code when they signed up or they didn't know the correct email address used for your account.
You haven't signed up to Mention Me, our referral partner. This means your friend won't be able to find your name when they sign up. Just head to the refer-a-friend section of your KatKin account to register with Mention Me.
If the referral discount doesn't appear or wasn’t applied, ensure the friend used your unique referral link during checkout. Without this, the system can't track the referral or apply the discount.
Some declined discounts may occur due to fraud-prevention or eligibility rules from our referral partner, Mention Me. These include checks for duplicate email addresses, IP tracking, or suspicious referral patterns.
If you feel like there’s an issue with a referral and a discount hasn't applied correctly, get in touch with our Cat Experts so we can look into this for you. Please let us know your friends name, email address or postal address so we can find the account as quickly as possible.
