Is KatKin Suitable for Cats with Asthma?
Feline asthma is rarely triggered by diet, and therefore all our foods would be suitable. Environmental allergens are more commonly associated with Feline Asthma; however, we always recommend speaking to your vet first about your cat's specific needs.
If you or your vet would like any additional information about our recipes or how KatKin can work with your vet to provide the best diet for your cat, please send us an email at [email protected]. Our team of Cat Experts and our in-house vet team will be happy to help.
Environmental Allergens
Environmental allergens are commonly associated with triggering asthma, and reducing your cat’s exposure to these irritants may help to reduce clinical signs. Common triggers include:
Dust (flea powder, carpet cleaner)
Sprays (flea products, household polishes)
Cat litter (dusty)
Smoke (cigarette, atmospheric pollution)
Scents (perfumes, air fresheners, Christmas trees)
Signs of an Asthmatic Episode
Signs of an asthmatic episode in cats include:
Coughing (dry and non-productive)
Wheezing
Laboured breathing
If any of these signs develop in your cat, we would recommend seeking urgent veterinary advice.
